We are developing similar strategies for our recreation facility and golf
course at Texas State University. Here are some of the ideas with the most
successful ones for exposure to the course at the top. The actual golf
programs listed have developed a number of new members as the course is
dedicated to developing a link to the community.
- A coupon book for daily access pass to the rec and the golf course for new
employee orientation
- Drawings at the University Wellness Fair
- Academic department tournaments (students, faculty and alumni)
- Career day tee times for on campus employers and students or staff
- Introduction to golf clinics with no or very little charge
- Adult Golf Camp for under $100
- Development of a junior golf program
- Development of a senior tournament once a week with entry fee $2 (they are
on a fixed income and can't typically afford too much more)
- Gear swap / sale at the rec center
- All brochures list other services through the department to provide a link
for participants to other opportunities
I hope you are able to be successful with getting the word out on the
benefits of golf - Good Luck!
